POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Branch Manager and is responsible for overseeing production operations and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) activities at the facility. This role ensures the efficient and accurate assembly of hydraulic hose products while maintaining compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations. The Production Supervisor is responsible for workforce management, production planning, operational efficiency, and resource allocation while supporting facility growth and continuous improvement initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership Train, coach, supervise, and develop production, shippingreceiving, and VMI team members. Ensure daily production goals and operational objectives are met. Provide timely feedback and performance management support. Foster accountability, teamwork, and positive employee engagement. Production Planning Organize workflows and assign daily responsibilities. Schedule production activities to meet customer demand and company targets. Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks. Promote urgency and efficiency throughout operations. Quality and Safety Management Ensure incoming materials and finished products meet established quality standards. Enforce company safety policies and procedures. Support OSHA, ISO, and on-the-job training initiatives. Identify, document, and resolve product and process nonconformances. Maintain compliance with all ISO documentation standards. Operational Efficiency Troubleshoot production equipment and processes. Partner with the Branch Manager to address operational concerns. Reduce downtime and improve productivity. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Reporting and Metrics Monitor production and operational performance metrics. Prepare reports related to productivity, quality, efficiency, and employee performance. Training and Development Complete leadership and operational training as required. Develop skills necessary for future branch leadership opportunities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum two (2) years of experience leading employees in a manufacturing or industrial environment Must be at least 21 years of age for driving responsibilities Experience operating production equipment such as saws, crimpers, forklifts, and related tools Ability to read and interpret technical work instructions and documents Ability to safely lift up to 65 pounds using proper lifting techniques Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Ability to use tape measures, digital calipers, and similar measuring devices Experience working with ERP systems Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications Typing speed of 25+ words per minute
Preferred:
Epicor ERP experience Forklift certification CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) certification
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
Valid Class C Driver's License Clean Driving Record Medical Examiner's Certification (required for driving; reimbursed by the company)
Preferred:
Forklift Certification (training provided if needed) CPR Certification First Aid Certification Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is located in a production facility environment and requires frequent use of hands, fingers, arms, and vision while standing for extended periods. Team members regularly communicate with coworkers to troubleshoot issues and complete job duties.
The role requires:
Fine motor skills and manual dexterity Operation of small tools and measuring devices Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and reaching Ability to identify small details and read labels, instructions, and documents Safe operation of production equipment and machinery Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may include: Safety glasses Gloves Hearing protection Safety footwear Other PPE as required by job duties
