This position is ideal for someone who not only knows how to run extrusion and bag-making equipment, but also has the judgment, leadership, and industry experience to help guide a growing production team. This is a hands-on leadership role , not an office position. You will be on the floor operating equipment, training operators, troubleshooting issues in real time, and upholding quality and safety standards. As our team grows, this role will play a key part in developing operators, improving consistency, and supporting smooth production across shifts. We are looking for someone we can trust to make capable, effective decisions and lead by example. Pay will be commensurate with experience. Key Responsibilities Production & Equipment Operate polyethylene film extrusion equipment safely and efficiently Operate and oversee bag machines and related downstream equipment Monitor extrusion processes, material blends, gauges, and outputs to ensure quality standards are met Perform start-ups, changeovers, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting Operate automatic blending equipment Read micrometers, tape measures, and production specifications accurately Leadership & Training Serve as a working supervisor and lead by example on the production floor Train and mentor extrusion and bag machine operators Reinforce proper operating procedures, quality expectations, and safety protocols Support new hires and help develop operators as the team expands Communicate clearly with management regarding production issues, improvements, or concerns Quality, Safety & Standards Uphold quality control standards and ensure product consistency Enforce safety procedures and safe machine operation at all times Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and prevent downtime Material Handling & Support Tasks Operate fork truck and hand cart Operate overhead crane Operate automatic stretch wrap machine Lift up to 40 lbs. Climb up to 30 feet of stairs to enclosed work sites Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Strong work ethic and reliability Industry experience in plastic film extrusion Leadership mindset with the ability to guide and support others Excellent time management and decision-making skills Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision Ability to work effectively in a team environment Able to read, write, speak, and understand English Able to follow verbal and written instructions Reliable transportation Proven experience in plastics film extrusion or plastics blow molding manufacturing environments Strong mechanical knowledge Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), quality inspection techniques, and precision measuring instruments Ability to operate forklifts safely; warehouse experience is a plus Skilled in the use of hand tools, materials handling equipment, and basic math for measurements and calculations Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively while maintaining high safety standards Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in machining, assembly, and fabrication tasks Preferred Qualifications Prior experience as a lead operator, senior operator, or supervisor in extrusion or converting Experience training operators on extrusion or bag machines Strong understanding of polyethylene film processes and quality control Experience operating a plastic film extruder Pre-Employment Requirements Pre-employment drug screening Ruler test Interview with NCP prior to hire This role offers an engaging environment where your technical expertise makes a tangible impact.
