POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the day-to-day activities of production operations and personnel to meet or exceed established Safety, Food Safety/Quality and Production standards. Responsible for leading and providing accountability for Lean Implementation with all production team members, in support of the organization's Lean Strategy. Actively partner with all plant departments to ensure alignment of support in attaining daily Safety, Quality and Productivity targets. Lead production team training and validation process to ensure labor force capability consistently supports achievement of daily Safety, Quality and Productivity Targets. Effectively manage Efficiency, Direct Labor and Yield/Waste to standards and lead improvements utilizing Continuous Improvement mindset and engagement of production to support teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead Safety with the production team, minimally through understanding, enforcement and accountability for all company safety rules. Develop proactive measures with your shift team to identify, correct and communicate safety risks in the operation to all Plant Team Members. Ensure appropriate operating procedures are developed, communicated and trained to all production employees. Continuously monitor Quality and Food Safety during operations, take appropriate actions to prevent out of spec products from being produced. Set labor schedules, adjust accordingly and communicate daily plans to employees as well as temporary agencies. Lead investigation of root cause(s) of any out of spec production, utilizing 5 Why/SRR/RCA tools, along with input of appropriate production support functions. Achieve proper costing following standard labor staffing model and equipment utilization with respect to production scheduled. Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse departments on the availability flow of packaging and raw material requirements. Ensure Lead and Machine Operators standard work is followed throughout the shift, make appropriate adjustments, communicates timely with plant team when schedule completion does not occur. Maintain the production area in neat and orderly condition through execution of MSS, 6S and good manufacturing practices. Assign MSS tasks to production employees and have the production area ready for plant inspections. Develop considerable knowledge in materials/ingredients used in production process, batch/filling/packaging equipment capabilities, production flow and chokepoints, Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices. Complete semiannual performance reviews for all Hourly Production Employees, identify developmental needs of employees and mentor their developmental skills and knowledge Lead Daily Shift Huddles prior to each shift, to ensure shift team is informed of not only Safety, Quality, and Operations concerns for the day, but also is aware of important business information shared by Plant SLT and others. Investigate employee issues, form a perspective with resolution and share with Operations Manager and HR Manager. Effectively interviews candidates for both Direct Hire and Temporary opportunities, providing professional input to the hiring decision. Monitors and builds plans/ideas to improve motivation and retention of employees. Job Functions Effectively Supervise hourly production employees - Filling, Packaging, Batching and Temporary employees assigned. Manage efficient line changeovers including size, allergen, label, schedule changes, etc. minimizing negative impact to Efficiency, Labor and Yield. Build strong relationships with support functions; Maintenance, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Production Planning, and R&D, enabling clear lines of communications while taking the lead in problem solving. Develop and implement new Lean Methodologies, 6S, 5 Why, SRC, RCA, Visual Management, etc., in accordance with the organization's Lean Manufacturing Strategy. Analyze operational data to identify loss opportunities, utilize LEAN Tools to identify root cause, and develop/execute corrective actions. Lead Production Shift with "Best in Class" mindset and instill in team members Responsible for all Shift Paperwork completion and accuracy. Ensure training and accountability is in place with individuals responsible for completion of paperwork Monitors all line efficiency reports, understand areas of opportunity and build plans with team to improve in identified areas. Input work orders into Maintain X for Safety, Quality/Food Safety and Production needs. Daily monitoring of meal breaks and lunch violations. Approves timecards and edits punches as necessary and weekly approvals in a timely fashion. Completes injury reports and investigations, lead root causes analysis for all injuries incurred on shift. Lifts Weight or Exerts Force Work Environment The employee may occasionally lift to 50 pounds. Work Environment This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Although some warehouse and production exposure will be expected. You may be exposed to fumes, temperature changes (hot, cold), loud noises, wet environment and moving mechanical parts and vibration.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
: Years of Experience Minimum of 5 years in a Production Supervisor role in food/beverage/pharmaceutical industry. Education Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school)
Preferred, Field of Study:
Business, Food Technology, Manufacturing, or related field. 5+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience Previous TPM/Lean Continuous Improvement implementation experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated capability to provide operations input to complex CAPEX implementations. Better Process School Certification preferred. Excellent organizational skills to plan production schedules and ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment Strong analytical skills to determine problems within the production process and take appropriate action Food Manufacturing Experience required/Beverage Experience preferred. 5+ years of successful Production Supervision Ability to use critical thinking to plan and problem-solve - 5 Why/RCA/SRC, etc. Solid understanding of manufacturing financials, Direct Labor, OEE/Efficiency, Productivity KPI's Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, Net Suite, Oracle, ADP Workforce Certification & Licenses Better Process School (High Acid/PH) Six Sigma Green Belt or above The company has reviewed this job description to ensure that essential functions and basic duties have been included.
