inspected meat snack manufacturer located in New Holland, PA producing quality meat snacks since 2008. We are growing and are looking to hire a qualified and motivated Production Supervisor to join our growing team. PEN produces a wide range of products including jerky, snack sticks, and chopped and formed jerky products for our own branded products, co-pack, and private label customers. Shift Position Description:
Under the direction of the COO & Plant Supervisor leads and assists team members in day to day production activities for the raw production and smoke room departments. Responsible for supervising all aspects of assigned production lines and departmental employees. Take direction and assists the COO in scheduling, line preparation, departmental performance, customer expectation, employee oversight, safety, food safety & quality, along with overseeing departmental manufacturing operations. Assists and leads assigned departmental employees in production activities, equipment set up & tear down, food safety, quality control, employee training, inspections, repairs & maintenance, and overall leadership to assigned departmental teams. Provides the COO with weekly reports of assigned department(s) including but not limited to established metrics, efficiencies, departmental budgets, employee performance, production, food safety, product quality standards, regulatory (USDA / FDA), equipment, production lines, and overall department operations. Essential Job Duties (Include but are not limited to) : Supervises all aspects of assigned department(s) and production line(s). Responsible for departmental communication, work-flow, and coordination between line leaders or designated employees Supervise line employees in setting up and executing each day's activities. Train new employees on assigned duties Troubleshoots departmental line and equipment issues to include required repairs & maintenance Rewards and disciplines employees when appropriate, and conducts scheduled departmental employee evaluations Production scheduling, communication, and coordination to include communication with other departments. Ensures regulatory standards are maintained (USDA, FDA, OSHA) Responsible for data entry of production activities and related information daily or as needed into the companies' manufacturing & inventory control software Ensures sanitary conditions are maintained in assigned department(s) Assists Plant Manger in monitoring and evaluation of assigned department(s) goals and metrics Ability to fill in for assigned employees when necessary Responsible for recording and initiating any food safety, quality, or other corrective actions needed. Responsible for knowledge and application of all related policies and procedure found in the companies Food Safety Management System Monitors and performs pre-operational and operational inspections Ensures completion, accuracy, and review of regulatory and company records is maintained Responsible for ensuring production lines operating efficiently and minimized downtime
Qualification Requirements:
Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills 3-5 Years of Manufacturing Supervisory Experience (Preferably Food Manufacturing) Excellent Mechanical Aptitude, Knowledge and Problem-Solving ability. High School Diploma or Equivalent Ability to Manage Time Effectively 2-3 Years of Food Safety Knowledge and Application (HACCP, SQF, SSOP, FDA). Company Will Train (Experience Preferred) Demonstration of Proficiency with the English Language, Both Written and Oral, in Order to Ensure Effective New Hire Training and Ongoing Communications About Safety and Quality. (Bilingual "English & Spanish "Written and Verbal" is a plus)
