The Role As Production Supervisor, you run our production floor day-to-day. You're the leader the crew looks to for direction, training, and standards — making sure we hit our daily output, quality, and safety targets while building a strong, motivated team. You report to the Operations Director and translate strategy into execution: scheduling the day, coaching the crew, troubleshooting on the line, and making sure every product that leaves our facility meets our standards for organic, natural pet care.
The scope at a glance:
7,000 sq ft facility, single shift (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) 30,000-50,000 units shipped per month across ~30 SKUs Direct supervision of 5 production crew members USDA organic and GMP-compliant production environment Responsibilities Lead daily production: assign tasks, set targets, and keep the line running smoothly Train, coach, and develop production crew; build skills, accountability, and pride in the work Enforce safety practices, GMP standards, and quality requirements on the floor every day Partner with the Quality Coordinator to ensure products meet specifications and certifications Monitor output and identify bottlenecks; escalate process issues to the Operations Director Maintain a clean, organized production area (5S principles) Manage crew schedules, attendance, and time-off coordination Conduct first-line troubleshooting on equipment; coordinate maintenance as needed Confirm raw materials are line-ready for each day's production run Support continuous improvement initiatives led by theOperations Director Required Qualifications Experience:
3+ years in manufacturing production, with at least 1 year as a supervisor, lead, or shift lead High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's a plus Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a small team Working knowledge of GMP, quality standards, and safety practices in a manufacturing environment Comfort with production tracking, basic computer use, and reporting (Excel, Fishbowl or similar) Strong communication skills and a hands-on, lead-by-example stylePreferred:
Experience in food, cosmetics, personal care, or other CPG manufacturing Familiarity with USDA organic, biobased, or third-party certified production environments Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma practices Bilingual English/Spanish Physical Requirements This is a hands-on role on a working production floor.You should be able to:
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly Stand and walk for extended periods (6-8 hours per shift) Bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions Wear required PPE (gloves, hairnets, safety glasses, closed-toe shoes) Work in an environment with cleaning agents, essential oils, and other product fragrances Use manual dexterity to handle product, ingredients, and packaging Location Roselle, New Jersey. This is an onsite role; remote work is not available.Compensation & Benefits Salary:
