Job Summary The Assistant Supervisor is a working leader who drives moment-to-moment execution of production activities on the line, reporting to the Production Supervisor. This role trains employees directly, models proper techniques, reinforces documentation accuracy, and drives shift performance through hands-on engagement and real-time coaching. The Assistant Supervisor recommends staffing, performance, and disciplinary actions to the Supervisor but does not hold final decision-making authority; this role builds supervisory-track experience by executing the Supervisor's priorities on the floor every shift. Position Responsibilities Line Leadership & Hands-On Production
  • Work directly on the production line to support throughput, troubleshoot issues, and model correct procedures.
  • Train employees in real time by demonstrating proper techniques, documentation practices, and equipment operation.
  • Monitor individual and team performance during active production and provide immediate coaching.
  • Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies on the line and implement adjustments to improve flow and output, escalating larger changes to the Supervisor.
  • Support changeovers, material staging, and equipment setup to maintain production continuity. Operational Support
  • Coordinate daily activities on the assigned line, assign personnel, and adjust priorities based on QC holds, equipment status, or material availability.
  • Track production metrics and shift performance to support traceability and continuous improvement, reporting trends to the Supervisor.
  • Partner with Maintenance and QC to resolve issues impacting product quality or throughput.
  • Ensure production areas remain organized, compliant, and inspection ready at all times. NetSuite Production Entry
  • Manage Work in Process (WIP) on NetSuite to ensure accurate real-time production status and material flow.
  • Complete and verify NetSuite Scrap Reports to maintain accurate yield, loss, and cost tracking.
  • Process NetSuite Work Orders (WOs), including issuing materials, closing operations, and updating production progress.
  • Perform NetSuite Bin Transfers to maintain accurate inventory movement and location control.
  • Ensure all NetSuite entries are timely, accurate, and compliant with Innovive's quality and documentation standards. Quality Control (QC) & FDA/ISO Compliance Support
  • Enforce Innovive's Quality System requirements, including
FDA 21 CFR
Part 820 (QSR), ISO 13485 principles, and internal SOPs.
  • Support QC by performing process checks, verifying specifications, and documenting nonconformances.
  • Maintain strict adherence to GMP, gowning, contamination control, and documentation standards.
  • Participate in investigations, CAPA activities, and root cause analysis when quality issues arise, escalating findings to the Supervisor. Team Training & Development
  • Provide hands-on coaching to employees during active production, reinforcing SOPs, GMP, and proper documentation.
  • Support onboarding and cross-training to build a flexible, capable workforce.
  • Address routine employee questions and concerns on the floor; escalate performance, conduct, or conflicts to the Supervisor.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, communication, and compliance. Safety & Environmental Controls
  • Enforce PPE, safe machine operation, and hazard control procedures during all production activities.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action follow-up.
  • Support safety audits, training sessions, and compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards. Documentation & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain accurate NetSuite entries and QC documentation for production, scrap, inventory movement, and material usage.
  • Identify opportunities to improve SOPs, workflows, and documentation systems, and bring recommendations to the Supervisor.
  • Help implement process improvements and new procedures aligned with Innovive's growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational goals and quality objectives. Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in medical manufacturing, FDA-regulated production, or quality-controlled operations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of
GMP, FDA QSR, ISO
13485, and documentation requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead informally while working hands-on in production.
  • Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to work directly on production lines with exposure to heat, cold, and humidity. Able to work in required PPE and gowning while maintaining compliance with contamination control procedures.
  • Possess the ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods during production activities.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Performs work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to standard manufacturing conditions, including equipment operation, production materials, and regulated processes.
  • Maintains compliance with safety procedures, quality requirements, and environmental controls at all times.
