Job Description

D1.5, OSHA, customer, and company requirements. Monitor weld quality and workmanship to ensure projects meet contract specifications and quality standards. Conduct daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and enforce safe work practices. Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, customers, and other trades to maintain project schedules. Oversee rigging, lifting operations, material handling, and equipment usage. Train and mentor welders and helpers while promoting continuous skill development. Complete daily reports, timesheets, production tracking, and project documentation. Assist with estimating field labor requirements and identifying potential project challenges. Ensure company vehicles, welding machines, and equipment are maintained and operated safely. Travel as required to project locations throughout the United States. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of welding experience. Minimum 2 years of supervisory or crew leadership experience. Extensive knowledge of SMAW (Stick), FCAW, GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG) welding processes. Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection practices. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, welding procedures, and project specifications. Experience managing crews in commercial, industrial, structural steel, or bridge construction environments. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices. Experience with cranes, forklifts, aerial lifts, rigging, and material handling operations. Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability and willingness to travel nationwide. Preferred Qualifications AWS Certified Welder. AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). OSHA 30 Certification. NCCCO, rigging, signal person, forklift, or aerial lift certifications. Experience working on DOT, bridge, or heavy structural steel projects. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding environments. Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to wear required PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, welding helmets, gloves, respirators, and fall protection equipment. Benefits Competitive pay based on experience.
