Nights 545pm-6am or Days 545am-6pm, 2-2-3 fixed schedule (Shift placement will be based on position availability)

Exempt; Full-time About the Manufacturing Group Leader position We are looking for a Group Leader who will monitor our production operations and ensure that they deliver maximum quality in a profitable manner. Your duties will include monitoring employees, assign and manage work assignments, track attendance, administer policies, assist with corrective action, check work for quality, and conduct performance evaluations. You should be highly competent and comprehend complex operations. We also expect you to be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing the costs.
Group Leader responsibilities are:
Actively supports and drives a "Safety Always Culture", a 5S workplace, consistent up, down and across communication and continuous improvement as a way of work life Continuously monitors their team for PPE compliance Provides managerial support and leadership to all assigned personnel Manages work assignments, directs tasks, and assists in achieving Quality and Production goals Monitors employee productivity; performs employee evaluations on time and accurately Ensures the proper number of personnel on the shift for normal operation Works closely with Engineers to develop standardized work procedures by designing and/or documenting the best work sequence for each process Utilizes techniques to identify/eliminate waste while developing and implementing the new process/methods. Understands and executes all HR policies and procedures consistently Performs monthly attendance audits Complies and promotes EHS programs, policies, and procedures in a proactive way Develops the skills of assigned personnel through coaching, training, and correcting substandard performance Completes/verifies all OJT's and LMS are completed on time Ensures open lines of internal communication throughout the department, between shifts, with Line Leaders, and all appropriate support personnel Communicates regularly with personnel from other manufacturing units and quality groups Use key performance indicators (KPI's) as a method of continuous improvement Compiles and analyzes data; reports desired information to engineers and management Perform other duties as assigned by management Group Leader requirements are:
Education:
(Required) high school diploma or GED (Preferred) engineering/ technical (chemical, mechanical, electrical, industrial, etc.) degree or business degree
Experience:
(Preferred) previous relevant experience (Preferred) previous leadership experience in the manufacturing industry
Language:
(Required) good command of written and spoken
English Skills & Knowledge:
Administration and Management
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources Engineering and Technology
  • Demonstrated know-how related to practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services Production and Processing
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods Mechanical
  • Functional knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Applied understanding of predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance methodologies Critical Thinking
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Reading Comprehension
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents Active Listening
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times Monitoring
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
Physical Demands:
Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
