Job Description

Position Summary The Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. This role leads a team of operators and technicians, coordinates workflow, monitors performance, and drives continuous improvement. The Production Supervisor is responsible for meeting production targets while maintaining a positive, disciplined, and safety‑focused work environment. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Supervise, coach, and support production employees across assigned shifts or work areas. Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to work instructions and safety procedures. Conduct training for new hires and cross‑training for existing employees. Address performance issues promptly and professionally, escalating when necessary. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Production Oversight Ensure production schedules are met by coordinating labor, materials, and equipment. Monitor machine performance, workflow, and output to maintain efficiency. Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with maintenance or quality teams to resolve problems quickly. Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and KPI tracking. Quality & Compliance Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications. Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues. Enforce compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and 5S compliance. Safety & Environmental Responsibility Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing PPE, lockout/tagout, and safe‑work practices. Lead safety talks, participate in incident investigations, and support corrective actions. Identify and report hazards, unsafe behaviors, or equipment concerns. Communication & Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact between production, maintenance, quality, and management. Communicate shift updates, production goals, and operational changes clearly to the team. Participate in daily production meetings and contribute to planning and improvement discussions. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or production operations. Prior leadership or supervisory experience. Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and safety practices. Ability to read work instructions, schedules, and basic technical documents. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Business, or related field. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies. Experience using ERP/MRP systems. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Working Conditions Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial materials. Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. May require shift work, weekends, or overtime depending on production needs. Experience Required 3 - 8 years: experience in manufacturing or production operations. Education Preferred Bachelors or better in Business Administration or related field
