PRIMARY PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for assisting the Director Transportation in the operations, planning and delivering safe reliable transportation for students within the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District. Incumbent also coordinates and communicates the oversite and recruitment drivers and training staff within GCCISD policies, DPS and TEA guidelines. Incumbent possesses a detailed understanding school policies in determining student transportation eligibility. Incumbent must exercise judgment in handling emergency situations and reporting problems or concerns to the proper authority.QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONCERTIFICATION High school diploma or GED equivalent College degree preferred Region TEEX Driver Trainer Course- Required Certified TAPT Pupil Transportation Trainer
- Certification Required Certified TAPT Pupil Transportation Supervisor
- Certification Required Begin and complete the process and implementation, a licensed rd Party Tester as required by the Texas Department Transportation with-in a time period no later than () six month site approval.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGESKILLS
Knowledge Federal, State, and local transportation safety laws, policies, and procedures Knowledge and skills necessary to drive a school bus and perform duties a dispatcher Ability to exhibit good communication and public relation skills when dealing with parents, school administrators, staff, and the general public Ability to compose correspondence to supervisors, staff, and school administrators Map-reading skills, statistical skills, writing skills, knowledge surrounding area, and other skills necessary to schedule routes and complete State reports Operate a computer in order to manipulate hardware, software, and existing programs; two-way radio to communicate with bus drivers; and other office equipment Commercial Driver's license (CDL-B), Defensive Driving course, and Texas Department of Public Safety Motor Vehicle Records check (Training for the above will be provided if necessary) Ability to assist in management an operation on normal school days and late night andor weekend field trips, etc. Ability to organize and manage a wide variety personnel Ability to apply proper decision-making techniques and ensure fairnessSUPERVISOR

PAGEMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
. Assist in the implementation and administration the transportation policies the District . Advise the Director Transportation on matters involving pupil transportation . Work with administrators, teachers, drivers, maintenance and service personnel, students, parents, and various public and private agencies to improve the quality the school transportation operations . Oversee the training program for the transportation department. Help to determine when adjustments are necessary, and the best way apply these adjustments . Responsible for the ongoing and continuous evaluation all drivers and monitors in conjunction with the Director Transportation . Responsible for Transportation full-time employee annual evaluations as required by GCCISD Board Trustee Policy . Responsible for securing and assigning substitute drivers as needed . Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director Transportation . Work with summer in-service programs for drivers and set-up periodic safety meetings . Assist in providing classroom and laboratory instructions for all bus drivers as required for certification school bus operation as required by Local, State, and Federal guidelines . Assist to coordinate, direct, and instruct school bus safety programs for all students grades K- SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES
. Responsible for the assignment bus drivers, bus monitors, trainers, and equipment as needed . Recommendation transfers, retention, and dismissal drivers and monitors .
