Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager while providing leadership, guidance, and training to production leads and associates. This role is also responsible for ensuring safety, product quality, material availability, workforce accountability, and the efficient delivery of cost-effective products to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure products are inspected prior to shipment and properly stored, packaged, and prepared for delivery Investigate and follow up on customer shortages, damages, and related issues Maintain 100% adherence to the daily production schedule and ensure on-time delivery to CDC to meet customer demand Control labor costs by minimizing overtime while meeting production and labor standards Ensure all employees receive required training and maintain 100% training compliance Coordinate with temporary staffing agencies to ensure adequate daily and weekly workforce coverage Provide leadership coverage for the Production Manager or Assistant Production Manager during their absence Work with inventory control to create a schedule from VTS Collaborate with QA, Material Control, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve operational issues and achieve production targets Assist in developing a system to trigger audits for variance of what was produced versus shipped Assist in developing a system to ensure line leaders are cross-training employees on critical skills, evaluate on a weekly basis Assist in evaluating and developing a plan to improve meat slicing and minimize slippage Follow guidelines and check sheets set up by QA to monitor appearance and undesirable products, so a quality product is sent to the customer daily Enforce food safety throughout the production process Track daily productivity and share results with the team Ensure weekly schedule is posted in a timely manner Follow up from R D meeting and ensure issues are resolved Participate daily, weekly, and monthly meetings to report the results or problems and suggest the improvements Prepare and track daily production report Review and approve production teams' timecards, timecard correction requests, and time off requests Assist in coordinating and preparing the weekly production schedule and update and share with the team as needed

Qualifications:
Required High school diploma 3+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industry English and Spanish proficiency in both oral and written Basic MS Office skills Experience working with USDA and FDA regulatory requirements and compliance processes Actively listens and communicates clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms, adapting to the audience Leadership skills to lead team and motivate employees Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to work on holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed Flexible mindset with the ability to adapt to change and learn quickly Ability to work onsite (remote work is not an option) Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis at the time the employment begins and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status. Preferred Knowledge of SQF and HACCP Work Environment and Workplace:
Work is primarily performed in an indoor environment, including kitchen, manufacturing, and warehouse settings The role may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, regular exposure to conditions such as hot and cold temperatures, humidity, and confined spaces depending on job duties The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to high
Physical Requirement:
To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, the employee must be able to: Must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or move for extended periods Perform repetitive hand and arm movements to operate food processing, packaging, or sanitation equipment Safely handle raw materials, ingredients, finished products, and packaging materials in a production setting Lift, transport, maneuver materials, or equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently to access materials, equipment, and work areas Maintain visual acuity to read labels, monitors, safety indicators, documents, and production instructions Work in environments that may include exposure to food ingredients, cleaning agents, temperature-controlled areas (hot/cold), and moderate to high noise levels Safely operate motorized vehicles or equipment within the facility as needed Communicate effectively using speech, written language, hearing, and visual observation in person, by phone, and via virtual platforms
