Job Summary:

Direct operations, manage team members, and meet production quotas safely and on time.

Reporting:

Typically reports to a Plant Manager or Operations Director.

Core Focus:

Safety compliance (OSHA), first-pass quality yield, workflow optimization, and lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

Coach, train, and schedule shift operators, track attendance, and conduct performance reviews.

Operations Management:

Set daily production priorities based on schedules, raw material inventory, and customer demand.

Quality & Process Control:

Monitor coating coverage, color consistency, viscosity, adhesion, and cure parameters; troubleshoot defects.

Safety & Compliance:

Enforce proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to environmental and hazardous waste handling regulations.

Continuous Improvement:

Drive 5S, Kaizen, and root-cause problem-solving methodologies to cut waste and reduce downtime.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience:

2 to 4+ years in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

Technical Knowledge:

Familiarity with liquid/powder coatings, electrostatic application, mixing equipment, curing ovens, and conveyors.

Certifications/Methods:

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S principles.
