Direct Hire RPM Staffing is hiring a Laser/Punch lead inRowlett, TX Shift:
Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm (Some overtime required)Pay:
Starting at $30/hr depending on experience Position Summary We are looking for a hands-on Punch / Laser Lead to provide technical and operational leadership in our CNC punch and laser cutting department. This is a floor-based leadership role where you will run production alongside your team, optimize machine performance, drive material efficiency, and develop skilled operators to meet daily build plans with high quality and throughput. Key Responsibilities- Lead daily production execution: assign jobs, sequence work, monitor throughput, and maximize machine utilization.
- Optimize nesting and material yield to reduce scrap and improve efficiency.
- Troubleshoot CNC machines, tooling, and programming issues quickly and effectively.
- Train and develop operators on setups, quality standards, and best practices.
- Ensure first-pass quality, proper documentation, and 5S standards are maintained.
- Partner with programming, materials, and downstream teams to maintain schedule flow.
- Enforce safety standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements
- 5+ years of CNC laser and/or punch experience in precision sheet metal fabrication (dual experience preferred).
- 2+ years of lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience.
- Strong proficiency with Amada, Trumpf, Salvagnini, or similar CNC equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, optimize nesting, and troubleshoot effectively.
- Lean Manufacturing / continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
