Bakery Manager / Owner Position Summary The Bakery Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production kitchen to ensure a clean, organized, efficient, and positive work environment. This role is accountable for inventory management, food safety, staff leadership, and maintaining the highest quality standards for every product leaving the bakery. Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership Lead, motivate, and support bakery team members throughout each shift. Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately. Conduct regular one-on-one conversations with team members to provide coaching, recognize successes, and discuss areas for improvement. Foster a respectful, accountable, and positive team culture. Address performance concerns promptly and communicate them to management when necessary. Train new employees and reinforce company procedures and standards. Quality Control Ensure every product leaving the bakery meets company standards for appearance, taste, consistency, packaging, and freshness. Perform quality checks throughout production. Identify and correct quality issues before products are shipped or sold. Maintain consistency in recipes, portion sizes, and production methods. Inventory & Ingredient Management Monitor ingredient inventory daily. Keep accurate records of ingredient usage and stock levels. Notify management when ingredients or supplies need to be reordered. Minimize waste by properly rotating inventory (FIFO) and monitoring expiration dates. Ensure ingredients are stored safely and according to food safety standards. Kitchen Cleanliness & Organization Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times. Ensure all equipment, workstations, storage areas, and common areas are cleaned according to company standards. Enforce all food safety and sanitation procedures. Complete and verify daily cleaning checklists. Operations Ensure production schedules are followed to meet customer deadlines. Assist with troubleshooting production issues and finding efficient solutions. Monitor workflow to maximize productivity while maintaining quality. Communicate effectively with management regarding operational concerns, staffing needs, inventory shortages, or equipment issues. Qualifications Previous bakery, food production, or kitchen leadership experience preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Performance Expectations A successful Bakery Supervisor consistently: Maintains a clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchen. Keeps ingredient inventory accurate and well-stocked. Produces products that consistently meet company quality standards. Leads by example with professionalism and accountability. Coaches team members regularly to improve performance and morale.
