Job Description
Job Summary
Core Responsibilities:
Responsible for the supervision of assigned employees and ensures compliance with all quality standards, customer specifications, and company policies.
Understand and manage the schedules and production to meet customer schedules.
Administers the personnel functions for the department. This includes interviewing and selection of personnel, performance evaluations, and disciplinary action. Focus on UTL and Employee development.
Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping.
Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment or knows who to contact for information.
Anticipates and trouble shoots problems with jobs and/or equipment and coordinates with other departments for resolution.
Ensures that established policies, rules and regulations and procedures are followed.
Coordinates production efforts with supervisors on other shifts for smooth transition.
Ensures that all equipment is operational and maintained per specifications.
Screen, interview, select and onboard new hires, conduct performance appraisals, coach and council employees.
Champion BES/lean measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years working in a manufacturing environment
3+ years experience in supervisory capacity
Excellent leadership and team skills required. Able to effectively interface at all levels of the organization
Knowledge of processes and machines related to products manufactured within a given business unit
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Excellent interpersonal skills and team player approach
Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration or another related field highly preferred.
