Full Job Description Schedule:
Monday through Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm Position Summary The Material Processing Supervisor at Quality Electrical Systems leads a team within the Structural Welding department responsible for preparing steel components for fabrication, including abrasive blasting, raw material cutting, and other preprocessing operations. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards while supporting production schedules. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who values safety, quality, continuous improvement, and teamwork. __________________________________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Supervise personnel operating abrasive blasting equipment and band saws to prepare steel components for fabrication Plan, prioritize, and monitor daily production activities to meet schedule, quality, and productivity objectives Coordinate with production planning and inventory personnel to ensure materials are available to support fabrication schedules Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and work orders Inspect parts for quality, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy Ensure material identification and traceability are maintained throughout the material processing operation Ensure routine preventative maintenance is completed and coordinate repairs when equipment issues arise Maintain clean and organized work areas Follow and enforce all safety procedures, including proper PPE use and compliance Train and mentor new machine operators Lead the QES Operating Model (QOM) within the team by conducting daily huddles, maintaining performance boards, engaging employees in problem solving, and driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery.
