Job Description

Full job description We are a growing steel installation company specializing in structural steel, stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metals. With multiple crews already in the field and a strong pipeline of projects, we are looking for an experienced Foreman to help lead our teams and continue our growth. Most field work is performed at project sites throughout Maryland, including the DC, Northern Virginia and Baltimore regions. Overtime is available, and some projects are prevailing wage jobs. Position Summary The Steel Erection Foreman will oversee field crews, coordinate daily job site activities, ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and maintain quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience in structural steel erection, welding, blueprint reading, and crew leadership. Responsibilities Supervise and lead ironworkers, welders, and helpers on active job sites Read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints Coordinate daily work activities and manpower requirements Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and according to specifications Perform and oversee SMAW welding in accordance with
AWS D1.1
standards Direct the installation of structural steel, stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metals Communicate with project managers, general contractors, and field personnel Conduct job site safety meetings and enforce company safety policies Train and mentor less experienced crew members Qualifications Previous experience as a Steel Erection Foreman, Lead Ironworker, or similar supervisory role Strong knowledge of structural steel erection and installation practices Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints Experience with SMAW welding; AWS certifications are a plus Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to travel to job sites throughout the DC, Baltimore, and Northern Virginia areas What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Overtime opportunities Prevailing wage projects available Advancement opportunities within a growing company Opportunity to help build and lead crews Supportive team environment with room for professional growth We are looking for motivated individuals who want to grow with our company and take pride in delivering quality work.
