Sheet Metal Foreman - Construction The primary responsibility of the Sheet Metal Foreman is supervising and coordinating the activities of Mechanics, Apprentices, and Helpers engaged in assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and equipment. The Foreman reports to the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.

Life:

Maintain strict adherence to all company safety rules, regulations, procedures, and practices. Follow directions from project supervision and assign workers to specific duties. Supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned teammates. Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance with specifications. Direct installation of equipment and duct joints, including slip and drive, TDF, snap lock, and other assemblies as required. Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders for assigned installation areas. Review and release company shop drawings and spool drawings for timely field installation. Communicate company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules. Estimate worker-hour requirements for job completion. Maintain time and production records. Handle materials as necessary. Teach, coach, and provide direction to Mechanics, Apprentices, and Helpers to promote safe, quality, and productive work. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

You Should Have:

Minimum of four years of industry experience. Knowledge of the International Mechanical Code (IMC), SMACNA, and general HVAC systems. OSHA 10-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to use current technology, including laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Teams. Ability to work within precise limits and standards of accuracy. Ability to install work from drawings, submittals, and specifications. Ability to direct crews to install work safely, efficiently, and with quality. Ability to make decisions using the information available. Ability to read and understand project-related documents in English. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions. Ability to communicate and work effectively with teammates and other trades. Strong hands-on mechanical skills. Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
