Converting Location:
Richmond, VA Must-Have Qualifications 3+ years of supervisory experience in converting or corrugated packaging manufacturing Hands-on experience with converting equipment (e.g., slitting, die cutting, folding/gluing, or similar) Strong leadership experience managing hourly production teams Proven ability to drive safety, quality, and production performance in a manufacturing environment Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices High School Diploma or GED required About the Role We are seeking a driven Production Supervisor to lead operations within the Converting department at a corrugated container facility in Richmond, VA. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while leading and developing a team of operators in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Key Responsibilities Operations & Production Lead daily production activities with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost Ensure production targets and shipping schedules are consistently achieved Monitor machine performance, productivity, and quality across converting operations Optimize workflow, labor utilization, and equipment efficiency Leadership & Team Management Supervise, coach, and develop team members to drive performance and engagement Conduct performance reviews and manage disciplinary actions as needed Manage workforce planning, scheduling, and attendance tracking Promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment Safety & Compliance Lead daily, weekly, and monthly safety briefings Monitor the work environment to identify and correct unsafe conditions Ensure compliance with all plant safety policies and procedures Drive a strong safety-first culture across the shift Continuous Improvement Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, downtime, and costs Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives Troubleshoot production and maintenance issues to minimize disruptions Participate in Daily Management Systems (DMS) to track and improve performance Performance Tracking & Communication Track and report KPIs, including productivity, efficiency, scrap, and downtime Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure production success Support plant-wide goals through strong collaboration and communication Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Operations Management Experience in corrugated packaging or similar manufacturing environment Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification Key Skills Strong leadership and team development Effective problem-solving and decision-making Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, and vision insurance (effective Day 1) Health savings account and life insurance Tuition reimbursement and employee discount programs Employee assistance program and wellness initiatives Relocation assistance available
