Full Job Description Position:
Floor Supervisor Job Overview The Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor while actively participating in the work alongside the team as a working supervisor. This role ensures production schedules are met, materials and resources are available, and employees follow established procedures and quality standards. The Floor Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining workflow efficiency, addressing production issues, and coordinating with other departments to ensure orders are completed and shipped on time.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Serve as a working supervisor, assisting with production tasks while overseeing daily floor operations Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff to maintain productivity and workflow efficiency Ensure production schedules and deadlines are met and escalate potential delays to management Confirm that materials, tools, and components required for production are available to prevent workflow disruptions Assign daily tasks and adjust priorities as needed to maintain production efficiency Ensure employees follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), company policies, and quality standards Monitor product quality and participate in identifying and resolving non-conforming parts or products Coordinate with the shipping department to ensure orders are completed and shipped on time Train and support new employees on procedures, equipment, and production expectations Track production progress and provide basic production reporting and operational updates to management Assist with inventory coordination, helping monitor materials, components, and supplies to prevent shortages Identify workflow inefficiencies and support continuous improvement efforts to increase productivity and reduce waste
Requirements:
3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a production manufacturing/warehouse Mechanical and electrical experience preferred, particularly in a production or equipment-based environment Ability to prioritize tasks and manage production schedules in a fast-paced environment Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide employees Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work on the production floor for extended periods, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting Duties may change and expand depending on performance and company growth.
