This position carries overall responsibility for a team of 30+ TIG, MIG, and Spot Welders and assistants across two shifts and reports directly to the Production Manager. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide top-level leadership for both shifts of welding operations Prioritize and direct workflow within the welding department to support interdependent departments Promote individual productivity and drive the welding team to meet department goals Ensure quality checks are completed and report non-conformances to maintain quality standards Ensure production transaction accuracy within the ERP system Collaborate with the Production Manager and other Supervisors to optimize overall production output Evaluate and develop welding skills and cross-training opportunities across both shifts Develop and document departmental best practices and standard operating procedures
Qualifications:
5+ years of welding leadership experience supervising a team of 10 or more welders Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, prints, weld callouts, job travelers, and work instructions Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate an experienced team to meet and exceed performance expectations Passion for production output, continuous improvement, planning, organization, and operational efficiency Strong welding skills sufficient to support the development and training of welders Experience with or aptitude for working with ERP systems for production transactions Proficient in basic computer skills and basic math, including geometry, fractions, and decimals
Pay:
$40•50/hr
DOE Schedule:
Monday•Friday, 6:00 AM•3:30 PM + overtime
