Summary of Role The Production Supervisor in the kitting department provides oversight and direction to Production Specialists who package, assemble, and kit items during the production process to meet customer requirements. This role ensures efficient operations and that production deadlines are met while observing safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Provide training, direction, coaching, and guidance to Production Specialists in kitting to ensure the safe and accurate picking, packaging, assembly, and kitting of items according to documents and work orders. This individual is responsible for all production activities within the work cell and actively participates in the production process. Ensure employees are following established work instructions, quality procedures, and standard operating procedures. Conduct daily department meetings, plan and coordinate daily activities and communicate production priorities or schedule changes. Read blueprints and use measuring equipment/tools. Resolve production-related issues promptly, appropriately and professionally. Monitor department performance, including productivity, accuracy, on-time delivery. Verify BOM and routing information on an ongoing basis, making changes as needed and communicating with senior leadership. Ensure that products meet quality standards. Report non-conformance issues to the Quality Manager. Own productivity and efficiency of kitting department and implements improvements. Operate and maintain machinery, reporting any machinery issues to management. Promote and maintain a clean and safe work area. Use ERP system to identify, investigate, and resolve inventory inaccuracies. Participate in internal/external audits. Other duties as assigned; position subject to change at any time
Qualifications Education:
HS diploma or equivalent
Experience/Knowledge:
5 years of warehouse, production, or related experience 2 years experience leading or supervising others Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems Lean manufacturing experience a plus Proficient with the following aspects of ERP systems: Bill of Materials (BOMs), Routing and Operations of jobs, Item Master, Investigate inventory movement and discrepancies
Skills/Competencies:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills Computer skills including Microsoft Office and inventory/ERP systems Able to comply with all safety guidelines Able to prioritize duties Able to read and interpret work orders and production schedules Positive, professional attitude with the ability to get results through others Attention to detail and ability to focus Driven, with the ability to work independently and as a team member Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills Must be or become forklift certified
Physical Demands Schedule:
Monday-Thursday:
7 AM to 4
PM, Friday:
7 AM to 1 PM Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, walking and reaching. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., or more with assistance. Must drive forklift and operate equipment such as motorized lift table, cutting equipment, etc. May use the winder; cutting, packaging, and swagging equipment; forklift; and stand lift trucks. Comfortable working in a changing and busy environment Primarily works in a warehouse with usual noise levels Able to work overtime as needed.
