Production Supervisor Job Description The Production Supervisor leads, coaches, and supports production team members to achieve daily output and quality goals while maintaining a strong focus on safety. This role monitors production schedules, adjusts workflow to meet deadlines, partners closely with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues, and drives continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. The supervisor conducts daily team huddles, communicates clear expectations, fosters a positive work environment, tracks performance metrics, reports progress to leadership, and supports training, onboarding, and cross‑training of team members. Responsibilities Lead and supervise production team members to ensure daily production goals are consistently met. Maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring all safety procedures and company policies are followed at all times. Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing, priorities, and workflow to meet deadlines and customer requirements. Partner with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to quickly identify and resolve production issues. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production processes. Conduct daily team huddles to communicate expectations, priorities, and updates, and to address any concerns. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and open communication. Track key performance metrics, analyze results, and report progress and trends to leadership. Support training, onboarding, and cross‑training of team members to build skills and ensure operational flexibility. Ensure production activities align with quality standards and company objectives. Assist in coordinating resources, equipment, and materials to support smooth production operations. Essential Skills Previous experience in manufacturing leadership or production supervision. Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey expectations and provide feedback. Proven people‑management skills, including coaching, mentoring, and team development. Ability to problem‑solve and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced production environment. Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Experience working in production or fabrication settings where coordination with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering is required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in metal fabrication environments. Hands‑on welding experience, including TIG welding, is a plus. Experience in machining or similar industrial environments is an advantage. Background in training and cross‑training production staff. Work Environment This role is based in a production facility with two primary shifts: first shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and second shift runs from 2:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The environment involves metal fabrication and welding operations, with welder pay ranges typically between $25 and $32 per hour and an additional premium for second shift work. Team members work around fabrication and welding equipment, follow established safety protocols, and collaborate closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering personnel in a fast‑paced, hands‑on setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Germantown, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $95000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
