Job Description

Job Summary The Production Lead - Electrical is responsible for helping deliver profitable growth by overseeing schedules, priorities, and development for Electrical/Electronic Assemblers and Technicians. Set performance expectations and deliver high quality products. Hire and lead a strongly engaged team. Work closely with peer leaders and other departments to ensure a timely and smooth production flow. Essential Functions
  • Prioritize, coordinate, communicate assignments, and train the team on how to optimize efficient production and deliver high quality products; specifically gather parts, tools, materials, and product assembly, repair, and test.
  • Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, specifications, and parts lists.
  • Anticipate, plan, and recommend space, equipment, and staffing needs required.
  • Submit material and equipment purchase requests and ensure they stay in good working condition.
  • Oversee department inventory to ensure organization and expected quantities and locations.
  • Inspect and verify all product quality is up to company and customer standards. Submit ECRs as needed.
  • Perform electronics testing.
  • Communicate regularly with peer leads, engineering, and purchasing to ensure a timely and smooth production flow. Communicate and work to resolve issues timely.
  • Resolve team members' questions and problems. Answer questions brought by other departments and bring challenges to the leader when appropriate.
  • Communicate significant product, process, quality, or safety concerns to the leader immediately.
  • Complete required reports, documentation, and approvals.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives. Recommend and help implement improvement across all departments.
  • Write, update, and communicate department procedures, checklists, and instructions.
  • Participate in meetings, and hold department meetings, as expected. Offer insights, solicit, and address team member input. Communicate upward as appropriate.
  • Participate in department's hiring and corrective personnel decisions. Oversee time-off schedules.
  • Perform technician and assembly work approximately 25%-50% of the time. Configure PCs with necessary product software.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment. Actively participate in company safety program.
  • Ensure department compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage the issuance and/or dissemination, completion, updating, and submittal of all work order paperwork.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Management of Personnel Resources — Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. LEAN manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, including solid soldering skills.
  • Requires a general knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Mathematical skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and the ability to apply concepts of business math to practical situations and dimensions to production.
  • Language Skills - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Coordinating the Work and Activities of Others — Getting members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work. Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
  • Guiding, Directing, and Motivating Team Members — Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance. Set biannual goals that align with the company's strategy and objectives.
  • Coaching and Developing Others — Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. Improve engagement, productivity, and team effectiveness. Implement talent strategies to build capabilities and succession talent. Education and Experience Requirements
  • Completion of an Associates of Applied Science or Electronic Systems Technology degree, or equivalent experience and knowledge, plus 5 years' experience wiring panels and complex machines from prints, schematics, and technical instructions.
  • Experience using basic principles of electricity and knowledge of electrical and electronic components, motors and motor control concepts, and various testing and measuring equipment.
  • Forklift and Crane Operation Certification preferred
  • OSHA-10 certification, preferred
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
