Job Description

General Summary of Duties:
Supervises and coordinates the activities of bargaining unit employees engaged in the production of soda ash to ensure safe and efficient operation of the production facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs activities of subordinates assigned to production area and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production requirements and quality specifications are met. Provides training to enhance subordinate job knowledge and performance. Inspects work area to ensure specific operational performance, optimum utilization and safety standards are being met. Investigates operational irregularities, upsets and accidents; recommends procedures and methods to improve production capabilities, equipment performance, product quality and employee safety. Interprets Company policies to subordinates and enforces safety regulations. Ensures compliance with the Labor Agreement and addresses complaints at the initial step of the grievance procedure. Ensures adherence to standard operational procedures and work practices related to quality, quantity, safety and efficiency. Maintains time and production reports. Ensures that operational reports, logs, spreadsheets and other production documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, customer service and organization skills. Must have ability to prioritize assignments and make well-reasoned timely decisions. Must be knowledgeable of computer operations and associated software applications. Must be able to communicate across all levels. Knowledge of plant operational practices and procedures strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in related field and 1-3 years' experience; or 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Pay:
$125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
