Production Assistant / Shop Hand

Job Title:

Production Assistant / Shop Hand Seamless Supply is currently looking for a Production Assistant to help with daily operations. Work will be performed under the Shop Lead. Duties will be given on a daily basis. Key Responsibilities Unload flat stock Cut flat stock to the correct size Load coils onto the roll forming machine Assist operators with bending materials Assist customers with loading and unloading any orders Ensure the work and shop area remain neat and tidy Keep the yard clean and organized Unload shipments Ensure trash is placed into dumpster before trash pickup day Keep all material outside covered with paper and/or extra weight Move trailers in and out of shop for MRS Operator Move completed panel orders to appropriate storage Direct customers to park in appropriate area for loading Shovel walkways Assist Operator in tasks Other duties as assigned Skills & Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to meet the physical demands noted at the end of this job description Must understand how to use a measuring tape and/or ruler Must be detail oriented Dependable team player with a positive attitude and the ability to follow directions given by the production lead and shop supervisor Equipment and fork-lift operation experience preferred Sheet metal experience preferred General Construction knowledge preferred Schedule 8 hr shifts Monday - Friday Overtime Eligible during summer production season Pay $20/hr Benefits Employee Discount Health, vision, and dental insurance Holiday and Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Sick Leave Life Insurance / Accidental Death and Dismemberment Policy Annual Tool Reimbursement program Aflac Retirement (Simple IRA) Physical Demands Bending, stooping and twisting Constant (6-8 Hours) Squatting or kneeling Frequent (4-6 Hours) Moving around the office, showroom and warehouse Constant (6-8 Hours) Communicate effectively through speech or writing Constant (6-8 Hours) Work in outdoor weather conditions Frequent (4-6 Hours) Accurately identify small writing or markings Constant (6-8 Hours) Pushing/Pulling Constant (6-8 Hours) Sitting or standing in a stationary position for long periods of time Constant (6-8 Hours) Reaching above shoulder level Constant (6-8 Hours) Climbing stairs and/or ladders Frequent (4-6 Hours) Driving cars, light duty equipment, or heavy duty equipment Frequent (4-6 Hours) Use of foot controls Constant (6-8 Hours) Repetitive motions Constant (6-8 Hours) Grasping, gripping, or pinching with hand(s) Constant (6-8 Hours) Moderate to High hand-arm vibration Seldom (1-2 Hours) Lifting/transporting heavy items, up to 75lbs Constant (6-8 Hours) Distinguish colors Constant (6-8 Hours) Disclosures For certain positions, the Company may review publicly available criminal conviction records when relevant to job duties.
