Sales Application Specialist - Manufacturing Action Manufacturing Birmingham, AL Job Details Full-time 6 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off 401(k) matching Qualifications Customer communication Technical drawing Mechanical design Manufacturing facility experience Math Manufacturing Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Position Summary The Sales Application Specialist works directly with customers to understand their product needs and determine how those needs can be met within the company's manufacturing capabilities. This position coordinates closely with engineering and shop personnel, creates and reviews mechanical drawings and specifications, prepares estimates and quotes, and helps manage orders through production and shipping. Along with using the Company ERP system, this role will use AI to improve to improve efficiency, accuracy, and communication throughout the sales and manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities Communicate directly with customers to understand product needs, specifications, quantities, and timelines. Create, read, interpret, and modify mechanical drawings and specifications. Work with engineering and shop personnel to determine product feasibility and manufacturing requirements. Prepare estimates and customer quotes based on materials, labor, production requirements, and other applicable costs. Use an ERP system to manage quotes, orders, product information, and related documentation. Coordinate changes to drawings, specifications, pricing, and customer requirements. Follow customer orders from initial quote through production and shipping. Communicate order status, changes, and delivery expectations to customers. Maintain accurate drawings, quotes, orders, and customer documentation. Use AI and automation tools to streamline quoting, documentation, communication, and repetitive processes. Identify opportunities to improve workflow and communication between customers, sales, engineering, production, and shipping Qualifications Manufacturing, technical sales, estimating, or related experience preferred. Ability to create and modify mechanical drawings and read and interpret existing drawings and specifications. Experience with CAD or similar mechanical drawing/design software. Proficiency in using an ERP system in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes. Strong math, estimating, and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service and communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Comfortable using AI, automation, and other technology to improve processes and productivity.
