Job Title:
Assistant Production Job Description This role supports aerospace manufacturing by packaging and wrapping finished products, as well as assisting in related production activities. You will work as part of a collaborative team, help wherever needed on the shop floor, and have the opportunity to cross-train in areas such as anodizing, plating, and masking. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain experience and build a long-term career in the aerospace and metal finishing industry. Responsibilities Package and wrap finished aerospace products according to written instructions and quality standards. Assist with masking parts and other metal finishing preparation tasks as part of cross-training in multiple areas. Follow written work instructions and production documentation accurately and consistently. Operate production and machine equipment safely as part of daily manufacturing activities. Work effectively in a fast-paced production environment to meet schedules and throughput goals. Support other shop duties outside of the warehouse, including general clean up and maintaining an organized work area. Collaborate with team members and supervisors, offering help wherever needed to support overall production flow. Adhere to safety procedures, shop rules, and quality requirements throughout all tasks. Participate in cross-training opportunities in anodizing, plating, masking, and related processes to expand skills. Essential Skills Ability to read and follow written instructions accurately. Previous experience working in a fast-paced production facility. Willingness to perform other shop duties outside of warehouse tasks, including clean up and general support. Machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to help in different areas of the shop as needed. Comfort working in a manufacturing setting handling aerospace or industrial products. Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift certification is a plus. Experience in general manufacturing, assembly, or production environments. Interest in learning and cross-training in anodizing, plating, masking, and other metal finishing processes. Comfort working with standardized work instructions and lean manufacturing practices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in packaging and handling finished products. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a spacious, modern plating and metal finishing facility that provides a full range of processing services in one location, simplifying logistics and supporting efficient production. The operation offers mechanical processes such as shot peen, polishing, and abrasive blasting; aluminum processing including multiple anodize chemistries, chemical conversion coating, and hard anodize; electrolytic plating such as chrome, titanium cadmium, cadmium, and zinc-nickel; coatings and paints including primers, fuel tank coatings, topcoats, dry lubricants, and intumescent coatings; non-destructive testing such as fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle, and nital etch; and other processes including zinc spray, magnesium processing, and passivation. The facility supports aerospace, defense, commercial, industrial, recreational, and electronics customers across North America and beyond. The environment follows lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices, with a production-floor setting where employees work around machinery, processing lines, and packaging stations. Dress is typical for a manufacturing facility, with appropriate work attire and any required protective equipment provided or specified to ensure safety and cleanliness in a metal finishing and aerospace production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
