In this dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of transforming creative concepts into tangible textile prototypes, ensuring that each pattern aligns perfectly with design specifications and manufacturing standards. Your expertise will drive the development of high-quality fabric patterns and prototypes that set new standards in textile innovation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the creation of cutting-edge textile designs while collaborating closely with engineers, the sewing manager, and production teams to bring complex drawings to life. This position is a specialized technical role requiring expertise in advanced pattern engineering, precision sewing techniques, and industrial production methods. The ideal candidate will have experience creating patterns for complex products, leading sewing teams, and training others on new patterns and production processes. This role will ensure all sewing staff can accurately and efficiently execute new designs to Falcon's quality standards. Core Responsibilities Pattern Engineering & Product Development Interpret digitized patterns for highly technical equipment and sewn products. Apply advanced knowledge of textiles, foams, coated materials, etc... to achieve structural integrity and performance to exact specifications. Collaborate with engineers, sewing manager, and production staff to convert concepts into production-ready patterns. Produce and refine first article prototypes. Sewing Operations Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines including walking foot, cylinder arm, and serger. Train and mentor sewing staff in executing new prototypes. Develop clear instructional materials and standard operating procedures for new prototypes. Monitor production quality and provide corrective coaching to ensure consistent workmanship to extremely high standards. Quality Control & Compliance Perform inspections on finished products to confirm compliance with engineering specifications. Maintain production documentation for quality assurance and process traceability. Identify and resolve technical sewing challenges quickly to prevent production delays. Required Qualifications Proficiency in reading technical publications and blueprints Demonstrated ability to train sewing teams in the production of new patterns and product designs. Expertise with multiple industrial sewing machine types and advanced sewing techniques. Proven leadership in a manufacturing environment with a focus on quality and efficiency. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Engineering, Textile Technology , or a related field, OR equivalent professional experience (minimum 7+ years in technical pattern making and industrial sewing leadership). Knowledge of government or military product standards. Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are a plus! Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
