ABOUT THIS POSITION
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Apparel Production & Embroidery/Heat Press Operator to join our team and help our business grow. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating commercial-grade embroidery equipment and heat press machines and is comfortable working independently to produce high quality apparel and customized products. This position will primarily involve operating our Avance 1501C-20 commercial embroidery machine as well as our HPN Signature Pro 16x24 Auto-Open Heat Press with SurePressure. The right candidate should already have a working knowledge of machine operation, garment preparation, embroidery production, heat-applied designs, troubleshooting, and quality control. We are looking for someone who is: Reliable Detail-oriented Organized Creative Takes pride in producing professional- quality work This position will begin at approximately 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position as the business grows and the employee demonstrates strong performance, reliability, and the ability to manage production independently.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Embroidery Production Operate the Avance 1501C-20 commercial embroidery machine safely Prepare garments and other products Properly hoop and position garments Select and install appropriate hoops, needles, thread, and stabilizers Load embroidery designs and prepare files for production Understand basic embroidery terminology and production settings Monitor embroidery machine during production Identify and correct common embroidery problems Recognize issues such as thread breaks, bird nesting, tension problems, misalignment, needle issues, and design errors Perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance Follow proper machine shutdown and maintenance prodedures Maintain consistent embroidery quality from one product to the next Inspect completed embroidery for quality, alignment, stitching, thread, and overall appearance Heat Press Production Operate the Signature Pro 16x24 Auto-Open Heat Press Machine safely Prepare garments for heat application Apply DTF transfer sheets and other heat-applied products as required Understand appropriate temperature, pressure and pressing times for different materials Properly position designs on shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, tote bags, and other apparel Prevent pressing defects such as scorching, ghosting, peeling, bubbling, or improper adhesion Perform quality control on finished products Maintain and clean heat press equipment Follow production specifications for each order Apparel Production Read and understand customer orders and production instructions Prepare garments for porduction Maintain accurate production counts Organize completed and pending orders Keep the production area clean and organized Package completed products appropriately Check orders for accuracy before they leave the production area Meet established production deadlines Maintain consistent quality and attention to detail Communicate production issues promptly Help maintain inventory of garments, embroidery supplies, threads, stabilizers, DTF transfers and other production materials
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Prior hands-on experience operating multi-needle embroidery and heat press machines Ability to independently set up and produce embroidery and heat press jobs Experience working with apparel and customized products Experience with embroidery digitizing software Experience preparing and editing embroidery designs Experience with DTF transfers Experience creating custom apparel Experience managing customer orders and tracking inventory
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing for extended periods of time Loading and unloading garments Operating machinery Moving production materials Bending, reaching, lifting, and organizing inventory Ability to safely operate production equipment
