Full-Time Position Summary The Assistant Operator supports the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and production processes. This position assists the Lead Operator with machine setup, material handling, quality checks, production documentation, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Key Responsibilities Assist operators with setting up, operating, and monitoring production equipment. Load raw materials and supplies into equipment as required. Monitor production processes and report equipment or product issues promptly. Perform routine quality inspections and measurements according to company procedures. Package, label, and move finished products to designated areas. Follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, and production schedules. Maintain accurate production and quality records. Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized. Follow all safety, environmental, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Assist with basic troubleshooting, equipment adjustments, and changeovers. Communicate production issues, material shortages, and safety concerns to the operator or supervisor. Support preventive maintenance activities and notify maintenance personnel of equipment problems. Perform other production-related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Manufacturing or production experience is preferred but not required. Ability to read and follow written work instructions. Basic math, measurement, and documentation skills. Ability to operate basic tools and manufacturing equipment safely. Good communication and teamwork skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move materials as required by the production process. Able to lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to wear required PPE and work around manufacturing equipment. Work Environment This position works primarily in a manufacturing/production environment and may involve exposure to machinery, noise, dust, temperature variations, and industrial materials.
