Summary:
We are searching for a friendly and motivated Coffee Roastery Production Assistant who is stoked about prepping and packaging coffee, cold brew, tea and chocolate and delivering wholesale coffee orders to our coffee partners, is excited about our mission to Caffeinate with Purpose, and can get down with our company values: hustle hard, keep it positive, and treat everyone like family. The Coffee Roastery Production Assistant will tackle all things related to coffee packaging, tea packaging, chocolate making and packaging, cold brew, cleaning coffee equipment, picking and pulling orders, loading up the delivery vehicle, and general warehouse duties AND deliver wholesale coffee orders throughout the Bay Area and shop for/deliver inventory to our cafe. This is a very manual job, and requires a very detail-oriented mentality. Many tasks are repetitive and require sustained focus for long hours. Additionally, many tasks require heavy-lifting. This is a fast-paced position, and we are looking for someone that has a can-do mentality, is proactive and able to see the week's tasks through to completion, and can work with a sense of urgency. This role requires you to drive our company delivery van to shop for inventory, load/unload inventory, and deliver to our wholesale partners throughout the Bay Area. Schedule Availability Monday - Friday, 9A - 5P Hours may fluctuate minimally based on the production schedule Additional hours occasionally based on the production schedule
Responsibilities:
Prep, grind and package coffee, tea and deliverables Cold brew production (setting, kegging and cleaning) Chocolate production (make, package and cleaning) Warehouse duties, including cleaning machinery, moving heavy coffee bags around, general duties and upkeep Clean food production equipment and mop food production areas Pick and pull orders for deliveries Load orders for deliveries Deliver wholesale orders around the Bay Area to our wholesale partners Shop for and deliver inventory to our Oakland cafes Responsible for upkeep of company vehicle Responsible for all areas of coffee production and deliveries, from start to finish Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary environment Additional general roastery duties as assigned Additional driving pickup/drops as assigned
Qualifications:
Positive, outgoing attitude Proactive, self-starting mentality is a MUST Ability to work with a sense of urgency is a MUST Ability to work independently and as a team player Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment Efficient and detail oriented Interest in furthering coffee knowledge Exceeds at repetitive tasks for long hours Ability to lift up to 50 pounds many times throughout the day Ability to hoist 150 pounds Ability to stand 8 hours in an 8-hour workday Work requires the following hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching 18+ Proven clean driving record and experience driving is a MUST High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred Exposure to cleaning chemicals and products Exposure to various food products, possibly including some that may have allergens, such as milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and soy, among others
