Job Description

  • Job Title:
    Production Operator
  • Job Description
  • The Production Operator plays a key role in safely manufacturing Phos-Chek® retardant and foam products.
You will operate salt and blending panels, prepare batches, and manage packaging operations while maintaining accurate production records and quality control samples. Working closely with a team of operators, you will support production, warehousing, and shipping activities, and help ensure full compliance with safety and regulatory standards in a large manufacturing environment.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Operate salt panel and blending panel equipment to support daily production activities.
+ Prepare production batches according to established formulas, procedures, and quality standards. + Package, label, and weigh Phos-Chek® products accurately to meet production and shipping requirements. + Complete detailed production records, including documentation of lot numbers shipped and materials used. + Collect, label, and mark representative quality control samples for testing and recordkeeping. + Work collaboratively with a team of operators in the production of Phos-Chek® retardant and foam products. + Assist in shipping and receiving finished goods and raw materials, ensuring accurate documentation and handling. + Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for all production employees by following housekeeping and safety practices. + Handle materials, warehousing, and shipping activities for Phos-Chek® retardant and suppressant products. + Maintain physical control of non-conforming raw materials and finished goods to prevent unintended use or shipment. + Help maintain and update production records to support traceability and regulatory compliance. + Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies, including D.O.T., industrial hygiene, and OSHA requirements. + Use packaging, palletizing, and general material handling equipment safely and efficiently. + Operate forklifts, machines, and hand tools in accordance with safety guidelines and operating procedures. + Support continuous improvement efforts by following standard work practices and identifying opportunities to enhance safety and efficiency.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Experience in general production or manufacturing environments.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. + Willingness to learn different functions across production and warehouse operations. + Strong safety orientation and commitment to following safety procedures and guidelines. + Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required by production needs. + Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods. + Attention to detail when recording production data, lot numbers, and quality control information.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience with packaging and palletizing operations in a manufacturing setting.
+ Experience with machine operation and machine operating in production environments. + Forklift operation experience and comfort working with powered industrial trucks. + Experience performing general labor tasks in a large manufacturing or warehouse environment. + Proficiency using hand tools safely for routine production and maintenance tasks. + Prior experience in general production, packing, and material handling roles. + Comfort working in hot, loud, and dusty environments where fire retardant particles and dust are present.

  • Work Environment
  • This role is based in a large manufacturing facility dedicated to producing fire retardant products.
The production floor can be hot, loud, and dusty, and the process generates particles and dust that may come into contact with your clothing. The coloring in the retardant can stain attire, so you will be required to wear steel toe shoes, dark-colored pants, and a dark-colored shirt. The employer provides personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, and ear protection, to support a safe and healthy work environment. You will work around packaging lines, palletizing equipment, forklifts, machines, and general material handling tools, and you may be scheduled for flexible hours, including weekends, to meet production demands.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
