Job Description

We are a fast-growing manufacturing and packaging company seeking a highly organized and hands-on Production Operations Specialist to help manage and improve our daily production operations. This position will play an important role in tracking production data, establishing production procedures, monitoring production performance, improving workflow, and ensuring accurate production records . We are looking for someone who is comfortable working both on the production floor and with spreadsheets/data. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, good with numbers, and able to identify problems and develop practical solutions. Key Responsibilities Track and maintain daily production data, including production output, labor hours, downtime, material usage, waste, and efficiency. Create and maintain production tracking spreadsheets, reports, and performance records. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production processes. Establish clear production procedures from material intake through production, packaging, quality control, and finished goods. Monitor production progress and ensure production schedules and daily targets are being met. Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, excessive waste, and opportunities for improvement. Work directly with production employees and supervisors to improve workflow and productivity. Help establish production KPIs such as units per labor hour, production yield, waste percentage, downtime, and completion rates. Monitor inventory and material usage to ensure sufficient materials are available for scheduled production. Maintain accurate records of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), finished goods, and production quantities. Assist with production scheduling and workforce planning. Create checklists, work instructions, production forms, and other operational documents. Help standardize production processes so that procedures are consistent between employees and production lines. Investigate production discrepancies and identify root causes. Assist management with continuous improvement projects and implementation of new production processes. Ensure employees follow established production, safety, quality, and documentation procedures. Provide regular production reports and operational updates to management. Qualifications Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and production data. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets . Ability to create organized tracking systems and production reports. Ability to write and implement clear SOPs and work instructions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Able to communicate effectively with production workers, supervisors, and management. Comfortable spending significant time on the production floor. Able to work independently and take ownership of projects. Manufacturing, production, warehouse, packaging, or operations experience is preferred. Experience with inventory management, ERP systems, production planning, or manufacturing software is a plus. Experience with process improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma concepts is a plus. The right candidate should be willing to observe the production process, collect data, build tracking systems, establish procedures, and continuously improve the way the operation runs. Pay:
$23.00 - $30.00 per hour
