SKM Industries is a precision CNC machining shop serving aerospace and defense customers. We run 18 CNC machines and 6 Universal Robots for machine tending, with iPads at every station and a fully paperless workflow. We are AS9100 certified and ITAR registered. This is a modern shop — and we're hiring one engineer to help the owner run it. What You'd Actually Own Robot cells — program, change over, and troubleshoot all six Universal Robots. Fixture and soft jaw design in GibbsCAM, working from customer-supplied solid models. First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and quality documentation for aerospace parts. Production scheduling, working alongside our floor coordinator. How the First Six Months Work You'll spend about a month on the shop floor on purpose — running parts, learning our machines, and earning credibility with the crew. Then you move into quality documentation, then scheduling and fixture design, then the robot cells. You get a written development plan on day one, with review checkpoints — including a formal pay review at six months. What We're Looking For BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Recent grads encouraged — internships not required. CAD proficiency and comfort reading GD&T drawings. Hands-on instinct — school projects you actually built count for a lot here. Detail-oriented. In this business, the paperwork is part of the product. Must be a U.S. person as defined under ITAR (U.S. citizen or permanent resident). Pay and Benefits $25-$32 per hour depending on experience, plus a formal performance and pay review at six months. Health insurance (company pays 50% of premium), SIMPLE IRA with 3% match, and paid time off. Benefits begin after 90 days.
