Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description Join an industry-leading manufacturer specializing in the production of various automotive hoses and parts. Our facility is a full-cycle manufacturing plant that produces PTFE tube and stainless steel braided hose from raw materials, serving the automotive, commercial, and industrial industries worldwide. Responsibilities Perform paste extrusion by making tubing out of Teflon powder, mixing and blending materials, and creating preform billets. Operate equipment using monitors for data entry and label printing. Work with setup operators to supply materials and create billets for extrusion. Load billets onto conveyors, use different dies for product lines, and conduct measurements and inspections to ensure accuracy. Engage in winding and braiding operations, setting tension on wires and attaching tubing. Manage hose processing, including running hoses through wash tanks and maintaining cleaning protocols. Participate in the twister process to create components for braiding and winding. Perform melt extrusion, applying silicone jackets to hoses and ensuring quality control. Conduct post-sinter processes to strengthen tubing for industries like aerospace. Execute pressure testing and strengthen tubes using multiple metal layers. Essential Skills At least 6 months of experience as a machine operator or in manufacturing. Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements. Solid mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operations. Stable work history with no more than three jobs in one year. Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical and math aptitude. Open to entry-level candidates with a strong desire to work in manufacturing. Good work history is essential. Why Work Here? We offer comprehensive training for all positions. Work Environment Work in a large production facility with approximately 110 permanent employees across three shifts. The dress code includes jeans and t-shirts, with uniforms provided upon permanent employment. Candidates may be required to train on the first shift depending on the role.
The schedule is as follows:
Monday-Friday:
1st shift (6:00am-2:00pm) and 2nd shift (2:00pm-10:00pm);
Sunday-Thursday:
3rd shift (10:00pm-6:00am). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suffield, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.23/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
