General Production Worker

General Production Worker Job Description This role involves loading and unloading materials into and out of trucks onto conveyor belts and pallets, mixing materials to manufacture concrete blocks, and loading blocks onto conveyor belts. It requires physical work with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and general labor tasks within a production environment. A mechanical inclination is considered a plus. Responsibilities Load and unload materials onto and from trucks and conveyor belts. Mix materials to manufacture concrete blocks. Load blocks onto conveyor belts. Perform general labor tasks. Engage in physically demanding work, lifting up to 50 lbs. Essential Skills Ability to perform general labor and production tasks. Capability to lift 50 lbs consistently throughout the day. Ability to stand on feet for the duration of the shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical skills or mechanical thinking are advantageous. Hands-on working experience in landscaping, construction, or athletics is beneficial. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a general labor setting at a concrete block manufacturer. The majority of the work is conducted outside but under a roof, with exposure to dusty materials. The shift is from 6 am to 3 or 4 pm, Monday through Friday, with optional Saturdays. The position typically involves working 45-55 hours per week. The job is part of an ongoing contract that could last a couple of months or extend to 90 business days. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westbrook, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
