Thursday, September 17 We have a full day shoot this Thursday, September 17, and need a PA / grip for the day. Beyond Thursday, we bring on freelancers by production throughout the year, and we'd like to keep good people in the rotation. About Us Founded in 2015, Betterme Productions is a Gainesville, FL-based video production company that amplifies the voices of people and organizations making a positive impact, especially in the higher education and education sectors. Our primary format is interview-driven content as well as some commercial-style filmmaking. Clients include the University of Florida, USF, FSU, Santa Fe College, and the Florida Department of Education.

https://bettermeproductions.com/ The Work On a typical shoot day you'll: Help load in, stage, and strike gear at each location Set up and break down lighting, stands, flags, and diffusion with our Cinematographer Run and dress cable, place sandbags, and keep the set safe and clear Help build interview setups: move furniture, place backdrops, dial in the background Keep talent and clients comfortable and the day on schedule Keep cases organized and gear accounted for through wrap Who We're Looking For You pay attention. You are looking for opportunities to help and be proactive on set. You're reliable. You show up on time and prepared, you communicate clearly, and you don't need to be managed through the day. You're professional. You're representing us and our client well. You can handle the physical side. You are okay with long stretches on your feet, and helping to carry gear up to 35 lbs in and out of spaces. Nice to have, not required: prior set experience, familiarity with lighting and grip gear, audio, gimbals, basic camera knowledge, a reliable vehicle. Most people start with us on PA and grip calls, and as we see what someone is good at, we may book them for other roles: camera, gaffing, audio, directing. Freelancers who worked with us have gone on to build careers in New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, and many still work with us. If you have a reel, please share when applying. If you don't, tell us what you've been working on. How This Works This is independent contract work, not employment. Booked per production. We let you know about upcoming shoots and you let us know whether you are available. No obligation on either side between bookings. You invoice us. No taxes are withheld and we issue a 1099 at year end. Your taxes and insurance are your own. You run your own business. We expect you may be working with other productions, and we don't set your schedule outside the days you accept. Rate. Starts at $20/hour.
