Position Duties/Responsibilities Incumbent performs a variety of metal repair, fabrication, plan, layout, and structural disassembly/ assembly of aircraft and aircraft components. Incumbent shall work from drawings, manuals, technical directives, instructions, and at times, under the guidance of a higher-graded mechanic. Incumbent will disassemble, repair, assemble, modify, measure, and/or check, as required, to process aircraft, aircraft engine structures, components, assembles, and/or sub-assemblies. Incumbent checks and realigns components using available jigs and fixtures after replacing structural parts or reinstalling fittings. Incumbent uses measuring instruments such as steel rules, drill gauges, compasses, and other precision-measuring devices. Incumbent uses various hand power tools and metal working hand tools.
