Position Overview The Production Lead will oversee daily shop-floor activities, coordinate workflow, support production employees, and ensure customer orders are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will work closely with the General Manager, Quality Manager, and production team to maintain schedules, resolve operational challenges, and continuously improve our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands manufacturing operations, takes initiative, and can balance production efficiency with uncompromising quality. Key Responsibilities Production Leadership Lead and coordinate daily production activities across multiple metal finishing processes. Assign work and ensure employees understand daily production priorities. Monitor workflow, production schedules, and customer delivery commitments. Identify and resolve production bottlenecks. Provide hands-on assistance when necessary to maintain production flow. Quality & Compliance Ensure production activities follow approved procedures, work instructions, and customer specifications. Support compliance with Nadcap and applicable aerospace and defense quality requirements. Coordinate with the Quality Manager to address nonconformances and implement corrective actions. Reinforce a culture of doing the job right the first time. Team Development Train, mentor, and develop production employees. Promote accountability, teamwork, and a positive work environment. Identify opportunities to improve employee productivity and technical capabilities. Communicate production performance and challenges to management. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and capacity. Support implementation of digital production systems and automation. Help standardize processes to support scalable growth. Reduce rework, improve throughput, and support on-time delivery. Qualifications Required Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment. Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience. Ability to coordinate multiple production activities and changing priorities. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documentation. Comfortable using computers and digital production systems. Willingness to work directly on the production floor. Preferred Experience in metal finishing, anodizing, plating, painting, or powder coating. Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience. Familiarity with Nadcap, ISO 9001, or AS9100 quality systems. Experience with production scheduling and workflow management. Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Metal finishing experience is highly desirable, but we will consider candidates with strong manufacturing leadership experience and the ability to learn our processes.
