Job Title:
Production Associate Job Description The Production Associate is responsible for the hands-on creation and packaging of meat products in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment. This role focuses on maintaining a consistent production flow, operating packaging and processing equipment, and upholding high standards of quality, safety, and sanitation throughout the production process. Responsibilities Handle and process high-quality meats and sausages to maintain a consistent and reliable finished product. Place sausage links into Multivac packers and operate packaging machinery safely and efficiently. Set up and operate industrial equipment such as cutters and metal detectors in accordance with established procedures. Move product from sticks into sausage cutters and ensure proper flow through each stage of production. Navigate full and empty trolleys through the production area, ensuring materials and products are moved safely and on time. Visually monitor meat quality and identify any products that do not meet specifications, placing them into designated rework bins. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain a clean, organized work area free of debris such as meat and blood. Adhere to all safety, quality, and sanitation standards while working in a cold storage environment. Accurately follow recipes and procedures, including weighing ingredients and verifying proper labeling of products. Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to meet daily production goals and support overall team performance. Essential Skills Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for the duration of an entire shift. Capability to frequently lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Comfort working in cold storage environments, routinely between 30-45 degrees. Strong attention to detail when following recipes, weighing ingredients, and ensuring correct labeling. Effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with co-workers and supervisors in a production setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED is preferred but not always required. Previous experience in food production or a warehouse environment is typically preferred; on-the-job training is often provided. Food Handler Certificate is frequently required or considered a strong asset. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a food production environment. Experience with general labor, general production, packing, and working with meat or meat cutting is beneficial. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a cold storage production facility where temperatures routinely range from 30 to 45 degrees. You will work in a fast-paced environment that involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the entire shift. The standard schedule runs from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The work area includes industrial equipment such as cutters, metal detectors, and Multivac packaging machines, and requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and strict sanitation standards. Appropriate attire for a cold, food-production setting is required, including any protective gear provided in accordance with safety and hygiene guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
