Job Description

Tamarack Foods is looking to hire a full-time Production Operator . Would you like to work for an established food manufacturing company with a great reputation and a family-like environment? Are you a self-starter who hates being chained to a desk all day? If so, please read on! Job Summary Our Production Operator will assist with various tasks within our manufacturing process.
Our operators are responsible for:
cutting various whole muscle proteins into finish product sizes, running various equipment (shakers, tumblers, mixers, etc.) pulling pieces of cooked product apart if they are stuck together and remove inferior pieces. They are also responsible for packaging finished product into bags, bulk totes or boxes. and running various packaging equipment. Responsibilities and Duties Removing any excess fat, bones, cartilage from product. Report any unusual noises coming from the machinery. Inspecting product for quality by removing defects from line during cooking. Break up product clusters as required. Watch for any changes that may indicate that there is a problem on the line. Help wash machinery when needed to do a species/protein change. Responsible for recording various components (lot numbers, best by date, etc). Remove boxes from line and place into outer cases when needed and stack onto pallet for shipping. Label boxes correctly by the product and lot number. Become familiar with equipment and be able to report any unusual noises coming from the machinery. Responsible for the quality of the finished product and is expected to watch for foreign material or contamination. Keep work area clean. Know and follow all Good Manufacturing Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures. Qualifications and Skills High School diploma or equivalent. Good communication skills. Detail orientated and team player with a positive attitude. Lifting of 25 pounds repetitively may be required. Previous food manufacturing experience preferred. Overtime may be required on occasion.
