Job Description

Job Summary:
Assist in the coordination and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to the production schedule. Duties include conferring with departments to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist in leading the production team under the direction of the Production Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Coordinate with the production scheduler when changes are required for labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with other departments Confer with personnel to coordinate production activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes Compile information, such as production rates and progress so status reports can be completed Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications Calculate figures, such as required amounts of labor, manufacturing costs, etc. Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of materials, or quality control measures Maintain files, such as production documents, training, and cost reports Provide documentation and information to account for delays, difficulties, or changes to cost estimates Assist in training of department team members and providing assistance to Production Supervisors and Team Leads when needed
Required Skills/Abilities:
Possess excellent computer skills to include MES systems and Microsoft Office Possess excellent communication skills, both orally and written Possess excellent organizational skills to include forward thinking and attention to detail Possess the ability to work independently and on a cross-functional team Possess the ability to be a self-starter
Education and Experience:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience At least 1 year in a similar role in a Just in Time manufacturing environment
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in business or similar related degree Over 2 years of experience in a similar role in a Just in Time manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Required to walk and stand for extended periods of time on a production floor, which can be dusty, dirty, and noisy Will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment in all designated areas (to include: cut resistant sleeves, safety-toed shoes, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, etc)
