Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Print Production Assistant to join our growing print team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with technology, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and is eager to learn the commercial printing industry. Previous print experience is a plus but not required . We are willing to train the right candidate who has a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn. Responsibilities Operate and assist with various digital printing and finishing equipment. Produce high-quality print jobs while meeting production deadlines. Prepare artwork and files for printing as instructed. Handle cutting, laminating, binding, mounting, folding, and packaging of printed materials. Assist in maintaining print quality standards and performing quality checks. Load paper and media into printers and monitor print jobs. Learn and understand different paper types, weights, finishes, and printing materials. Understand and use common print terminology related to commercial printing. Maintain equipment cleanliness and assist with routine maintenance. Organize inventory of paper, media, inks, and production supplies. Work closely with team members to prioritize production schedules. Assist customers with basic print inquiries when needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous print shop, copy center, or graphic production experience is preferred but not mandatory . Willingness to learn commercial printing processes and equipment. Basic computer skills. Strong attention to detail. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude and dependable work ethic. Preferred Knowledge (Training Provided) The ideal candidate should be willing to learn and become familiar with: Digital printing processes Large-format printing Wide-format media Paper sizes and paper weights (Bond, Text, Cover, Index, Cardstock, etc.) GSM and lb paper conversions Coated vs. uncoated papers Gloss, matte, satin, and specialty media Vinyl, banners, canvas, polypropylene, and adhesive materials Lamination and mounting techniques Bleed, trim, safe area, crop marks, and imposition Color modes (CMYK, RGB, Pantone) Print resolution and image quality Finishing equipment such as cutters, laminators, binders, creasers, and folders Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Stand for extended periods. Comfortable working around production equipment. Ability to move boxes of paper and finished products.
