Production Operator Job Description As a Production Operator, you will work in a variety of roles within a food manufacturing plant, supporting both processing and packaging operations. You will help ensure that production runs smoothly while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and product quality. Responsibilities Operate production and packaging equipment safely and efficiently to meet daily output and quality targets. Perform general production tasks, including assembly, packing, and material handling as needed throughout the plant. Monitor machines during operation, identify basic issues, and report any equipment malfunctions or irregularities to the appropriate personnel. Follow all food safety procedures and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and compliant manufacturing environment. Maintain accurate counts and proper packaging of finished goods according to production and packaging requirements. Assist with routine cleaning and basic maintenance of production and packaging areas to support continuous operations. Adhere to all plant safety rules and regulations, using proper personal protective equipment and safe work practices. Essential Skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during the shift. General production experience in a manufacturing or similar environment. Forklift experience and ability to safely operate material handling equipment. Basic machine operating experience preferred, including starting, stopping, and monitoring production equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in food manufacturing or packaging is an advantage. Comfort working with various types of production and packaging machinery. Willingness to cross-train in multiple roles within processing and packaging. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Robinson, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
