General Production Worker Job Description This role supports a busy production facility by performing oil technician and general production duties, including assisting the maintenance team with minor mechanical repairs, changing dies, and setting up minor parts of machinery. You will work hands-on with equipment, materials, and tools in an automotive manufacturing environment, helping to keep production running safely and efficiently. Why Work Here? Responsibilities Assist the maintenance team with minor mechanical repairs on production equipment. Change dies and assist with basic machine changeovers as needed. Set up minor parts of machinery according to specifications and instructions. Use hand and power tools to complete minor repairs and adjustments on equipment. Perform basic mechanical assembly and disassembly tasks related to production machinery. Handle materials including loading, unloading, and moving parts and products within the facility. Support general labor activities such as inventory handling, packaging, and shipping tasks. Follow established safety guidelines and standard operating procedures while working with machinery and fiberglass materials. Monitor equipment for basic issues and report problems or abnormalities to the maintenance or production team. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations. Essential Skills Demonstrated mechanical ability to perform minor equipment repairs. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete minor repairs. Past experience with mechanical assembly or repairs in an industrial or similar environment. Experience performing general labor tasks such as inventory handling, packaging, unloading, and shipping. Basic troubleshooting skills for identifying simple mechanical issues. Ability to perform machine setup tasks for minor components or parts. Comfort working in a physically demanding production role, including standing, lifting, and handling materials for extended periods. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures. Work Environment This role is based in a general automotive manufacturing environment that is non-temperature controlled, which means the facility can become very hot due to operating machinery. You will work around fiberglass and other industrial materials, and you should be comfortable working in a production setting with active equipment and noise. The position follows a structured shift schedule, with options including a first shift from 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, and a third shift from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, Monday through Thursday. Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety while working with machinery and fiberglass in this industrial setting Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delaware, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
