Manufacturing Associate -
Blanking Operator Job Description:
The Iowa Customs team is quickly growing and looking for a hardworking, dependable Manufacturing Associate to join our production team. This position will primarily be responsible for operating blanking equipment, including CNC laser and turret machines, to produce high-quality parts according to production schedules, production orders, and product specifications. Primary responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, operating laser and turret equipment, monitoring machine performance, inspecting finished parts for quality and accuracy, organizing completed parts, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. This position will also be cross-trained in additional manufacturing operations to support production needs. Cross-training may include press brake operation, PEM machine operation, polishing, product assembly, material handling, packaging, and other manufacturing duties as assigned. Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is a plus but is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who is dependable, motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
Responsibilities:
Operate CNC laser and turret blanking equipment safely and efficiently Load raw materials and unload completed parts Follow production schedules, work orders, drawings, and job instructions Inspect completed parts to ensure quality and accuracy Identify and communicate equipment, material, or quality concerns Accurately record production information and complete required documentation Organize and move materials and completed parts throughout the production process Perform routine equipment and work-area cleaning Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards Cross-train in press brake operation, PEM machine operation, polishing, assembly, packaging, and other production areas Assist in other manufacturing operations as production needs require Work independently while contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment
Requirements:
Dependability and reliability are a must Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work Willingness and ability to learn multiple manufacturing processes Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to read and understand work orders, measurements, and basic production drawings Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive manufacturing tasks Ability to lift and move approximately 10-50 pounds Basic computer skills Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment Experience with CNC laser equipment, turret equipment, press brakes, manufacturing machinery, measuring tools, or forklift operation is a plus. A high school diploma or equivalent and forklift certification are preferred but not required.
