Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Location Manager, the primary duties of the position are placement and maintenance of product inventory in the yard and loading/unloading of inventory items on and off customer and company vehicles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Operate a forklift and/or skid loader efficiently and safely. Conduct and follow inspection procedures.

Develop knowledge of inventory sizes, types, colors, and pallet/package counts.

Learn yard locations and general quality of all inventory items, assist with inventory counts as needed.

Communicate inventory, customer, and traffic problems. Inspect returned inventory.

Assist in maintaining product storage and display areas.

Maintain yard in orderly and hazard free condition during all weather.

Maintain a high level of customer service. Cooperate with others.

Prepare inventory for shipment.
Qualifications:
Education, experience, and skills: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.

Must be knowledgeable about safety regulations. Must have appropriate training and understand the specific operating functions and controls for a fork truck and a commercial truck.

Must have English language reading and writing abilities to understand written safety guidelines.

Must have good vision and ability to recognize differences in products.

Must be dependable, well organized, safety minded, and have efficient work habits.

Must be able to pass OSHA fork truck certification examination and yard evaluation. Physical, mental, and environmental requirements: Must be able to follow lifting and back safety guidelines while handling concrete products and wooden pallets. Frequent and repetitively lift concrete products and other objects weighing up to and exceeding 100 pounds each, at heights from floor level to 4 feet high. Regular usage of forklift and/or hand loading vehicles. Frequent bending and extending to reach inside of vehicles. Use proper safety guidelines during the complete workday. Shifting gears on fork truck requires coordination of hands and feet. Must be able to climb in and out of fork truck to check products. Work is performed outdoors, and fork truck is operated under Midwest seasonal conditions including summer heat, winter cold, and other conditions. The environment also includes varying noise levels and vibrations associated with construction equipment and exposure to building materials, dust, and dirt.
Schedule:
7am - 4:30pm. Saturdays as assigned. May be subject to winter layoff or reduced hours during the off season.
