Job Description

As a team member of passionate malting professionals, you will learn the malting trade in an entry level position working an 8, 10 or 12-hour schedule on day, swing, or night shifts. This is a full time, regular position with a probationary period of 1,040 working hours. Essential Functions Follow all safety procedures and policies of the organization and when visiting a customer or potential customer, or a vendor or potential vendor site. Proactively identify and report safety issues including near misses and accidents. Ensure the safety of our product and people while doing what is best to create the safest environment now and for the future. Create an environment where people feel comfortable being themselves, speaking up with ideas, questions, concerns, and mistakes. Promote an inclusive environment and ensure all employees are safe from harassing and discriminating behaviour. Foster an environment that inspires and motivates others. Drive continuous improvement and encourage learning and development not just in what we do but how we do it. Express excitement and enthusiasm for your work. SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Critical reasoning skills, ability to read, write, perform math calculations on a high school level. Must be self-motivated, with an ability to troubleshoot issues and determine appropriate resolution and develop sense of ownership of processes. Above average verbal communication skills are required, plus willingness to work in a team environment with peers in various departments and trades. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel is preferred. Malting or brewing industry knowledge and/or experience is a huge plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Unionized environment. Teamsters Local 983. Highly physical position, including walking, sitting, standing, climbing stairs and ladders in the plant environment. Outdoor work in all seasons during day, swing, or night shifts. Occasional heavy lifting (up to 55 lbs.). Use of PPE. Must be able to wear a full-face respirator. Exposure to industrial noise from plant machinery. Valid driver's licence preferred
