About the Role As a Metal Fabrication Assistant, you will play a vital role in our stainless steel production team by preparing components for final assembly and ensuring high-quality finishes. Responsibilities Refine sheet metal surfaces using grinders, Scotch-Brite wheels, and specialized deburring tools to meet quality standards. Support the assembly of custom stainless steel fixtures and commercial equipment to ensure project timelines are met. Prepare finished goods for shipment by crating and packaging components securely. Facilitate efficient shop operations by managing material movement with pallet jacks and forklifts. Interpret basic fabrication drawings to ensure accurate component preparation and assembly. Uphold a high standard of shop organization and safety to foster a productive work environment. Collaborate with fabrication crews to assist in various stages of the manufacturing process. Qualifications Required Skills Proven reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. Proficiency with power tools such as drills, impacts, and grinders. Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic shop math. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow technical instructions. Preferred Skills Prior experience operating a forklift or industrial machinery. Familiarity with reading and interpreting fabrication blueprints.
